Have you ever wanted to book a photo session that’s more than just … a photo session? A session that captures the love between you and your partner more fully, more authentically, and more intimately than you could imagine? Enter, the date night photo session.
Kat & Alex’s date night
I always say that an evening spent on a riverbank is the classic Arkansas activity – and that’s what we did on the day of Kat and Alex’s date night photo session. They brought their pups and snacked on the best pumpkin chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever tasted (yes, they generously shared with me) and we stayed there until the stars came out. It was the perfect night.
But what made it perfect? It wasn’t any one thing. What made it perfect was the intentional planning to create an experience that was tailored to them. Because a night spent without their pups wouldn’t be perfect. Regular chocolate chip cookies wouldn’t have been perfect. Any other location wouldn’t have been perfect, because it wouldn’t have been them. And that’s what date night sessions are all about.

Why book a date night session?
My inspiration to start offering date night sessions came from the song “Slow Dancing” by Aly & AJ. If you’ve never heard it before, it’s definitely worth a listen. Anyways, I was listening to that song and the image it was painting in my head was so beautiful and I thought to myself …
“That’s the way I want to be creating art.”
By working with you to create an experience that is both new and familiar, my goal at these sessions is to be able to capture the love that you and your partner have for each other at this time in your lives. While you can book this session at any point during your relationship, I highly recommend it for engaged couples. Being engaged is such a special and short time in your relationship, and it can be really easy to get caught up in wedding planning and let that dominate all the time you spend together. Intentionally making time to spend together helps you connect and will ultimately strengthen your relationship.

What to expect at a date night session
After you send me an inquiry, we will set a time for your complimentary pre-booking consultation call. On that call, you will choose from several different options of activities, fast food restaurants, and locations to create a night that is tailored to you. Once you sign a contract and pay your non-refundable retainer, I will set everything up for you. That way, on the day of our session, all you have to do is show up and enjoy a fun date with your partner.
My role during these sessions is to be a documentarian. I may say things like “Don’t be afraid to flirt with each other” or “Try to always be touching in some way”, but I won’t be posing or prompting you as I would be during a standard session.

How to prepare for a date night session
Prepare for your date night session just as you would for any other date night. Maybe send a spicy text to your partner on the morning of the date. Maybe make a playlist of romantic songs to listen to in the car on the way to the date. Anything you can think of to make the night extra special.
When you book with me, you will receive a date night session guide, which includes (among other things) a style guide.

How to book a date night session
After submitting an inquiry, you will receive an email with a link to a questionnaire. The questionnaire helps me to get to know you a little better, and it also helps me to set up a time for our complimentary pre-booking consultation call. After that call, I will send you a contract and an invoice, and once I have received back your contract and your non-refundable retainer, your session is booked! I always reply to both inquiries and emails within 24 hours (usually it’s more like 1-2 hours), and by responding to me in a timely manner, you can help this process go by quickly and easily.
So what do you think? Are you ready to book your date night photo session with me?
